التكاثر

أَلْهَىٰكُمُ ٱلتَّكَاثُرُ ١

Alhākumu l-takāthuru

Striving for more distracts you

حَتَّىٰ زُرْتُمُ ٱلْمَقَابِرَ ٢

Ḥattā zur'tumu l-maqābira

Until you go into your graves.

كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ ٣

Kallā sawfa taʿlamūna

No indeed! You will come to know.

ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ ٤

Thumma kallā sawfa taʿlamūna

No indeed! In the end you will come to know.

كَلَّا لَوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عِلْمَ ٱلْيَقِينِ ٥

Kallā law taʿlamūna ʿil'ma l-yaqīni

No indeed! If only you knew for certain.

لَتَرَوُنَّ ٱلْجَحِيمَ ٦

Latarawunna l-jaḥīma

You will most definitely see Hellfire,

ثُمَّ لَتَرَوُنَّهَا عَيْنَ ٱلْيَقِينِ ٧

Thumma latarawunnahā ʿayna l-yaqīni

You will see it with the eye of certainty.

ثُمَّ لَتُسْـَٔلُنَّ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَنِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ ٨

Thumma latus'alunna yawma-idhin ʿani l-naʿīmi

On that Day, you will be asked about your pleasures.
