Ar-Rahman
Madinah
ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ ١
Al-raḥmānu
It is the Lord of Mercy
عَلَّمَ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ ٢
ʿallama l-qur'āna
Who taught the Quran.
خَلَقَ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ ٣
Khalaqa l-insāna
He created man
عَلَّمَهُ ٱلْبَيَانَ ٤
ʿallamahu l-bayāna
And taught him to communicate.
ٱلشَّمْسُ وَٱلْقَمَرُ بِحُسْبَانٍ ٥
Al-shamsu wal-qamaru biḥus'bānin
The sun and the moon follow their calculated courses;
وَٱلنَّجْمُ وَٱلشَّجَرُ يَسْجُدَانِ ٦
Wal-najmu wal-shajaru yasjudāni
The plants and the trees submit to His designs;
وَٱلسَّمَآءَ رَفَعَهَا وَوَضَعَ ٱلْمِيزَانَ ٧
Wal-samāa rafaʿahā wawaḍaʿa l-mīzāna
He has raised up the sky. He has set the balance
أَلَّا تَطْغَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْمِيزَانِ ٨
Allā taṭghaw fī l-mīzāni
So that you may not exceed in the balance:
وَأَقِيمُوا۟ ٱلْوَزْنَ بِٱلْقِسْطِ وَلَا تُخْسِرُوا۟ ٱلْمِيزَانَ ٩
Wa-aqīmū l-wazna bil-qis'ṭi walā tukh'sirū l-mīzāna
Weigh with justice and do not fall short in the balance.
وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَضَعَهَا لِلْأَنَامِ ١٠
Wal-arḍa waḍaʿahā lil'anāmi
He set down the Earth for His creatures,
