النبإ

عَمَّ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ ١

ʿamma yatasāalūna

What are they asking about?

عَنِ ٱلنَّبَإِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ ٢

ʿani l-naba-i l-ʿaẓīmi

The momentous announcement

ٱلَّذِى هُمْ فِيهِ مُخْتَلِفُونَ ٣

Alladhī hum fīhi mukh'talifūna

About which they differ.

كَلَّا سَيَعْلَمُونَ ٤

Kallā sayaʿlamūna

They will find out.

ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَيَعْلَمُونَ ٥

Thumma kallā sayaʿlamūna

In the end they will find out.

أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ ٱلْأَرْضَ مِهَـٰدًا ٦

Alam najʿali l-arḍa mihādan

Did We not make the earth smooth,

وَٱلْجِبَالَ أَوْتَادًا ٧

Wal-jibāla awtādan

And make the mountains to keep it stable?

وَخَلَقْنَـٰكُمْ أَزْوَٰجًا ٨

Wakhalaqnākum azwājan

Did We not create you in pairs,

وَجَعَلْنَا نَوْمَكُمْ سُبَاتًا ٩

Wajaʿalnā nawmakum subātan

Give you sleep for rest,

وَجَعَلْنَا ٱلَّيْلَ لِبَاسًا ١٠

Wajaʿalnā al-layla libāsan

The night as a cover,
