At-Tin
Makkah
وَٱلتِّينِ وَٱلزَّيْتُونِ ١
Wal-tīni wal-zaytūni
By the fig, by the olive,
وَطُورِ سِينِينَ ٢
Waṭūri sīnīna
By Mount Sinai,
وَهَـٰذَا ٱلْبَلَدِ ٱلْأَمِينِ ٣
Wahādhā l-baladi l-amīni
By this safe town,
لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ فِىٓ أَحْسَنِ تَقْوِيمٍ ٤
Laqad khalaqnā l-insāna fī aḥsani taqwīmin
We create man in the finest state
ثُمَّ رَدَدْنَـٰهُ أَسْفَلَ سَـٰفِلِينَ ٥
Thumma radadnāhu asfala sāfilīna
Then reduce him to the lowest of the low,
إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ فَلَهُمْ أَجْرٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُونٍ ٦
Illā alladhīna āmanū waʿamilū l-ṣāliḥāti falahum ajrun ghayru mamnūnin
Except those who believe and do good deeds–– they will have an unfailing reward.
فَمَا يُكَذِّبُكَ بَعْدُ بِٱلدِّينِ ٧
Famā yukadhibuka baʿdu bil-dīni
After this, what makes you [man] deny the Judgement?
أَلَيْسَ ٱللَّهُ بِأَحْكَمِ ٱلْحَـٰكِمِينَ ٨
Alaysa l-lahu bi-aḥkami l-ḥākimīna
Is God not the most decisive of judges?
